The campaign developed by the French Committee of the fight against high blood pressure (CFLHTA), the French Society of Hypertension (SFHTA) and the French Society neurovascular (SFNV) wants to increase the help by 2015 in wich hypertension will be treated and controlled by doctors.
The 2012 campaign to fight against high blood pressure (hypertension) was launched from French doctors to improve the management of hypertension and “save thousands of lives” every year, said Dr. Jean-Jacques Mourad.
Hypertension is the most common chronic disease in the world with over one billion people affected .
In France, it affects between 15 and 16 million people, with many well-known complications such as stroke (CVA), the leading cause of death for women in france.
Hypertension is the “first factor that influence in mortality” speacially in rich countries as in developing countries.
It is also considered a direct cause for cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, said Professor Mourad who leads the French association to fight against high blood pressure (CFLHTA).
